Yeah -- Brian Nemetz asked me not to put this on the website.
I thought about it long and hard --- and if I was a serious journalist (which I'm not) I would have had no qualms about posting it. --- However --- these guys are all friends of mine and sometimes I respect their wishes. Another thing that I considered was the fact that Brian Nemetz is a lot bigger then me and is capable of squashing me like a bug if I'm not careful.
So here we are a week and a half later.
Why the sudden change of heart?
Well - to be honest -- I was slightly offended that Brian got tickets to see Star Wars at 12:01 am on May 19,1999 and he didn't get me a ticket.
So what is it that Brian Nemetz did not want posted on the website?
Let's just say there are certain things in life that are taken for granted.
Death
Taxes
You know the routine ...
And while the game of Golf has the "Mulligan" which allows a player to pick up a ball and take credit for sinking a putt (when in fact the player did not take the shot). So to is the assumption in hockey that if the goalie for an opponent's team fails to show up -- the game is a gimmie.
Well let's just say that that is one thing you can no longer take for granted.
So while Brian Nemetz is stuffing his face with popcorn while he watches Star Wars The Phantom Menace -- I find that it is my responsibility to report that his hockey team lost a 'gimmie' to ---- you guessed it --- The Phantoms.
