Rob Osa receives a little advice on attacking a goalie's 'Achilles Heel'. |
Rob Osa is tired.
He's tired of Winning.
He's tired of pulling out another Tie with a late period goal.
In moments when he is alone -- and no one is watching -- he wonders what it would be like to lose a game here or there.
In the past, he's secretly campaigned to require that all goalies be required to play on skates or rollerblades. -- His reasoning on the matter is that if makes things a little tougher on his own goalie -- then he might one day taste the bitterness of defeat. Needless to say, his campaigns failed -- and so the Tile Cutters continued to win.
On Sunday April 18, 1999 Rob tried a new approach: While warming up his goalie Dave before the game with the Wolfpack, Rob let loose a slapshot that rocketed from his stick and caught Dave just below his throatguard. I was not there at the time -- but I can just imagine it hurt. It is said by those that witnessed the game that Dave could barely move to his left all evening. However, Dave was able to work through the pain and salvage a Tie. Rob Osa was thwarted once again.
Ah -- but the story does not end there.
Dave is not so tired.
He's definitely not tired of Winning.
He likes nothing better then to shag a puck from behind him to preserve a win.
So it's no surprise that Dave did not take to kindly to Osa's antics. There are reports circulating the rink that Dave was seen to pass a small envelope to Jeff Rosenthal before the April 25, 1999 game between The Empire and The Tile Cutters. The contents of that envelope remain a mystery -- but it's no secret that Rob Osa received a beating at the hands of the Empire.
Where will this all end?
Perhaps the Fury will finally let Rob Osa experience a loss ---- and then again -- maybe not.
The Coastal Pirates? --- nope.
Yup --- [It's Over]
