FISHERMAN ICE DERBY 1999

Great East Lake saw 382 anglers hit the ice on February 13,1999,for a day of great fishing.Men numbered 346,with 16 woman and 20 children participating.Lake trout dominated the catch with a total of 28,followed by one Brookie,one Rainbow,and no Browns.
First prize (trophy and $300.00)went to David L'Heureux,for his 26-inch Laker.
Second prize was a 25 3/4-inch Laker worth $200.00(and a trophy)for angler, Layyr Shaw.
Third place went to Chip Gilpatrick,who caught a 23-1/2 inch Laker worth $150.00 and a trophy.
The lone Brookie was worth $300.00(and a trophy) to Marc Croteau.That fish was 16 1/2-inches long.
The single Rainbow caught messured in at 13 1/2-inches worth $300.00
Participants also received door prizes that included thirty 20-inch ice fish baskets.
This ice fishing encourages and promotes women in the sport of fishing.The Fly Box donated a hand made Bottle Neck Basket to ,who was one of the ladies fishing the derby.
Raffle: 20 inch ice fishing basket,five Heritage traps,5 inch spoon,ice swivels,ice spoon went to lucky winner , with the proceeds going to S.S.Y.S.A Dr. William Brinks, of Sanford,Maine.
