This is going to be a wonderful time in your life.  You should want your wedding day to be as unique and special as your love.  At High Country Planning, we want to be more than your consultant.  We want to be an advisor, an organizer, a supervisor, an expert, and your friend.

One of our consultants will finely tune every aspect of your occasion, from the early planning stages to the final farewell.  Our main goal is to help remove the stress of your wedding day without removing your special input into the occasion.  Our ambition and resources will combine with your input and desires to ensure a wedding that will be memorable and fun for all.

Wedding Styles:

A wedding is a representation of your love and commitment to each other but it is also a reflection of your desires.  Your wedding style will be determined by those desires, as well as other factors, such as budget and number of guests.

Setting the Tone or Formality

Very Formal

The ceremony is held in a church or other religious center.  It includes engraved invitations with traditional wording, formal photography and an elaborate sit down dinner.  The bride wears a traditional styled gown with a long train and the bridesmaids wear floor lengths gowns.  The groom and his attendants are in formal attire, such as cutaway coats during the daytime and white tie and tails in the evening.  Some times these may be substituted by a black tuxedo.

Formal

The ceremony is held in a church or religious center but can also take place at a home or garden.  The traditional elements are the same as a very formal wedding; however the attire will vary in formality.  The bride may wear a less traditional gown with a shorter train and the groom may choose a black tuxedo or gray strollers with a waistcoat.

Semi-formal

The location for the ceremony and reception may vary and are often held in the same location.  There is usually some sort of buffet rather than a full-course sit-down meal.  The number of attendants will be fewer than a formal or semi-formal wedding and the attire of the wedding party is most often less formal and less traditional.

Informal

The ceremony can take place in any location that the couple wishes, such as a town hall, city park, or even a restaurant.  The bride can wear anything from a white suit to a sundress.  Invitations can be as simple as a handwritten note.

Variations of Style

The ceremony and reception can always be altered to meet your individual needs, but it is wise to maintain the tone throughout the wedding.  For example:  It is not advisable to have a formal wedding ceremony followed by a picnic at a public park.

The following are some suggestions for the non-traditional couple who might like a more unique location for their ceremony.  These ideas are ideal for smaller weddings, limited budgets, second marriages, or renewal of wedding vows.
