Larry Fine Actual name: Louis Feinberg October 5, 1902 - January 24, 1975 Larry had a stroke in 1970 which pretty much put an end to "The Three Stooges" films in 1971.
Curly Howard Actual Name: Jerome Horwitz Nickname: "Babe." October 22, 1903 - January 18, 1952 Curly was the most loved stooge although he was only part of the team from 1934 - 1946 and was replaced by Sam Horwitz who played the part of Shemp.
Moe Howard Actual name: Harry Moses Horwitz June 19, 1897 - May 4, 1975 Harry appeared in four other movies without the other stooges.
Shemp Howard Actual name: Samuel Horwitz. March 17, 1895 - November 23, 1955 Years with the Stooges: 1922-1925, 1929-1932, 1947-1955 After Sam's death in 1955, he was temporarily replaced by a stunt man named Joe Palma until Joe Besser took over as the "Third Stooge."
