 The Sad Angel
|
A Poem
A poem is a pleasant greeting
To spirits and mystics afar
Who chance by their heavenly windfalls
To embrace a creative declare
When all life's untimely depressions
Fall short of expected grace
A poem is a retreat from misfortune
As a smile on a sad angel's face
For a poem be not without splendor
Nor fragrant arisen a tomb
That a poem is just a kind lyric
To be shared from a poet to you
