Fear and Freedom
Spiritual development calms the soul
the mind, the body
Mediation, prayer, the still small voice
Actions of love and kindness
guide light to new directions
Fear panics rationality
Selfish, anxious, greedy
Of not attaining what ego desires
Of losing what is unjustly mine
But in God's world there is freedom
A freedom that lives within the existential
within hope, within comfort
A freedom from bondage
A freedom from fear
Fears that may never come to be
When I am free from my egocentric fears
I can think, act and be with sound rationale
Courageous and content
My world becomes clear as glass
My life, my creator's
It is then
I am at peace |
