An Angel Walking
I saw an angel walking
Down the path on by the road
Her hair was fine and silky
Her wings resembled gold
She stopped and drank some water
From the fountain on the road
Then turned with graceful posture
And smiled and said hello
She spoke as soft as flowers
Her voice divine as pearls
"I am but a messenger
Of God's love to the world"
"Think kindly of your neighbors
Be pleasant to your own
Give love to one another
And Heaven is your home"
Then with wings like feathers
She flew into the sky
And peacefully departed
I watched the angel fly
And so I say as witness
To the beauty from above
Fear not my friends and fellows
For we are made from love |
