Character
Brian McGinn
Brian McGinn is an orphan, the son of a world-traveling businessman who died in a car accident several weeks after Brians 17th birthday. The bureaucracy was not kind to McGinn, and he ended up having to start his life from scratch in Japan. An obviously gaijin appearance meant that he had a hard time fitting in, and his alternately abrasive/reclusive personality didnt help that situation much. Two years of learning to fix cars, drive cars, and practicing some illegal hobbies have left him impoverished and without any concern for other individuals. He doesnt actively hate other people, he is just supremely selfish. He works as a mechanic at a dingy auto shop and aspires of joining a prestigious racing team, preferably as a driver.Shimatsu Kuroi
Shimatsu Kuroi is a Bounty Hunter out of the job. He used to be apart of a group of bounty hunters, but on their last job everyone but him got smoked. Now he's just trying to find enough money to stay alive and pay the rent. He has no family, as they mostly died in a vicious murder on Christmas Eve. Kuroi was the one to find his family like that, as he was late in coming do to traffic. He's been hunting for the murderer(s) ever since, but has had no luck as of yet. He was born and raised in Tokyo, and has only met a few gaijin, though he speaks English well enough. Recently he saw an ad in the paper about a Penthouse looking for roommates. When he went to talk to them and he learned the price of rent, he just couldn't refuse. So now he is living in a Penthouse with some really strange character's, and to pay the rent he is working as a part-time stunt man for a low-budget film studio. Hey, it's better than living on the street.Oni
Oni comes from a bad life; his mother left him as a child and his father was a drunk. He was beaten at a young age, and decided to take up martial arts as a way to not only stand up to his father, but to channel his anger and rage into something useful. He soon learned he possessed great talent with the arts of fighting and left his father, becoming a wandering adventurer. He seeks now adventures, quests, missions, and to improve his fighting and meet new, tough challenges in his life so he may conquer them. He is what most people would call: The Present-day Samurai.
Irugama Joku
Irugama Joku, a normal boy of 19, lived with his parents until two years ago when his mother, who discovered that he planned to be a famous martial artist instead of a famous doctor, threw him out."Fine! I don't need them!" he thought. Lucky guess.
He barely managed to survive for the next two years, working full time in a crappy fast food restaurant, studying Shotokan karate with Reiruu Sensei at the Senkai Isshin Ryu dojo, and sleeping in his *very* small one room condo, filled with the rats. He tried to win tournaments, but he only managed to do fifth place or so - until three month ago. He won the first place of a decent tournament, gaining enough money to move out of his rat filled condo, and throw a party when he did. The next morning, he found an ad in the newspaper - some guy looking for three or four other to split the rent of a big penthouse, and decided to give it a try. "What the hell! I have nothing to lose!" was what he was thinking. He was right.
Here he is now, living with some *weird* friends in a big penthouse in Tokyo downtown, owner of a Ducati racing bike, some good clothes and a decent room; he was also third position in one of the biggest tournament of Japan, the Iron Fist!
Life is great. For the moment, at least.
Michael Labowski
Michael Labowski grew up with a normal life and in a normal home. He grew up to become a successful detective, husband, and father despite being considered a weirdo with red hair and red eyes. He considered himself pretty prosperous until he found out that his wife and 3 year old child were murdered in his home while he was out late on a case. He used his connections to seek out and kill the murderer, but not only did he kill him, he cut him into little pieces with his katana. This got him off the police force and put him into prison for a couple of years. When he got out he sold his home, got a low paying job washing dishes. Living off the money he saved up as a detective he sought out a place to live and came across on ad in the newspaper about rooming in a penthouse and he went for it. Like him his roommates were pretty weird and now he is tying to figure out how to improve his life.
