Well, with this being my first entry here, I suppose I should give a little bit of backround on myself! My name is Mindy Dawne. I'll tell you right now that I was supposed to be a twin. My sister, Terra, died during our birth. I'm okay, though. I think of her as my guardian angel! I was born in California where I lived until I was about 4. After that I moved with my mom and dad to Juneau, Alaska. I went all the way up through high school in Juneau, and even met the love of my life, Trevor. (FYI: I love Trevor sooooo much...so you will probably hear a lot about him during the time of this journal!) I like things like: Music (I sing), drama, writing (I'm actually trying to put a book of poems together, and I may start a journal here to save my poetry and songs as well), and of course doing what I can to be happy and make others around me happy as well. I won't go into my friends just now...they will actually come in later in this entry. I have quite a bit to write about because I want to start from the beginning of our journey. Graduation day!
June 1st was graduation day for Juneau Douglas High School. I remember getting ready (with my cap and gown), and just hugging my parents and crying. My graduation day was not only the day I moved on to the next step of my life, but also the day that my friends and I were to begin planning the road trip we wanted to take. Five of us were going. Maggie, Dustin, Jeremy, Trevor, and myself. Now I may as well tell you a little about each of them. Maggie is kind of two opposites in one. She likes to wear the black clothes (leather and such), she can shoot guns, and she drives a moter cycle she got for her 16th birthday. She is the sweetest person you will ever meet in your life, though! Dustin is my pal from Drama in high school. The road trip was actually planned for him to begin with because he recieved a summer acting opportunity in Las Angelas, so we were all going to travel with him to California and then go on exploring the country as soon as we had to say goodbye to him. Jeremy is a total bookworm! It is thanks to him that I will be able to keep record of our trip like this! (I'm using his lap top!) Ask him anything possible or not, and he'll be able to find the answer online! Now Trevor. Trevor is my highschool sweetheart. Well, he's the only sweetheart I've ever had, and I know I couldn't be happier with anyone else! We've never really discussed (directly) the topic of marriage, but here and there we will come up with comments like "Oh! We should live in a house like THAT someday!" and "Oh, remember THAT name for our first girl!" So, I think it's possible someday, but who knows when. After all...I'm only 19. I have plenty of time to live (and that is what I want to do right now) before I think about getting married. The thought of being with Trevor forever is so wonderful to me, though!
Back to the story now! So, after the ceremony we all went to Bullwinkles Pizza to make plans. We decided that we'd like to try to head out on a Friday, but the following Friday (2 days away) was a bit to soon. In the end it was decided that we'd leave on the morning of Friday June, 10. After discussing the final plans with our parents I called my two friends I knew in California, Kayla and Joey, to let them know that we would be going right through California and that I wanted to come visit my old neighborhood. They were both so excited to hear that I was finally coming back! (I'd never been able to get around to really making visits because of how expensive it is to leave Juneau. You can't drive out. You have to leave by plane or ferry.)The next 9 days went by quickly enough. I tried to pack a little each day. Enough to where I'd not have a bunch to do at the last minute, but not so much that I no longer had anything I needed! A pair of socks here, and shirt there. That sort of thing! Before I knew it, it was the evening of June 9. That night I went for a walk with Trevor. We just kind of wanted to have one last time to just be together with no one else around since we had no idea how long our trip was going to last. The light was fairly bright that night (it's Juneau and June...the sun was up from about 4am to 11pm). We walked down the loop road to the glacier like we always did when we wanted to talk. I wouldn't have cared where we walked, though. As long as Trevor has been a part of my life, everything has been perfect. He's the person I feel most comfortable around, and the one I feel the safest with! He's everything to me! Op...sorry! I didn't mean to just go off like that, but hey...I did warn you that I would do this sort of thing! Ha Ha!
We got on the ferry at 9am the next morning. Trever brought his little Jeta and Maggie had her bike. You pay to have your vehicles taken out of Juneau with you, and then they are parked in the very bottom of the boat. Obviously we needed a car if we wanted this 'road trip' to actually work! Later that evening we arrived to the beginning of our drive. We got off the ferry in a small town in Canada. From there we started driving South (Trevor, me, Jeremy and Dustin in Trevors car), and Maggie on her bike. Of course we stopped at places that seemed interesting to us, as well as things that Jeremy remembered from surfing the net. On the 14th I emailed Kayla to let her know we should be in town the next evening. The next morning I had emails from Kayla and Joey both (she let him know about the email I sent), giving us directions from the freeway exit to the Star Bucks they would meet us at. Not so oddly, both directions completely contradicted eachother. I knew right away what to do. Follow Kayla's instructions! Ha Ha! Joey was probably goofing off! He was like that at times!OH! I have to tell you guys the weirdest thing that happened while we were looking for the Star Bucks, that night!! Kay, at first we just ran into a traffic jam, just by city hall, but then I saw that there were some kind of protestors in front of the building! Whoah!! You don't see that kind of stuff in Juneau, that's for sure!! I couldn't tell, from the distance I was at, what kind of people they were, but I know their signs said something about the Newman race. And rights people think they should have over humans. Personally, I don't see what race has to do with superiority, and people should give allegience to who ever they want, newman or not. Anyway, things got fairly hectic there. We heard a gun shot and some sirens, but we managed to get away from the area with a bent front bumper (which Trevor grumbled about). Yeah, that was just sort of weird!
We finally arrived at Star Bucks where Kayla and Joey were both waiting. Kayla practically jumped in my window before Trevor was even able to park the car! Then I thought I'd knock Joey over with how fast I ran to hug him! Oh, it felt so good to hold them again! I don't remember much about our childhood together (I mean I was only 4!), but I always have and always will remember them and what they mean to me! After doing all the introductions we went inside and caught up on life. I'm glad I was finally able to combine the 2 worlds that both mean so much to me. Having Joey and Kayla finally meet the man I love was the best part of it! I've always thought of those 2 as sort of my long distance brother and sister I never had.
As of right this moment....I'm at the Motel. Days Inn. Cute little place! Tomorrow I am going to visit parents and such. Should be fun, but I'll let you know about that in my next entry! Um...I'm not sure if I should say to expect entries this long on a regular basis or not. I guess it will depend on if the trip is worth ever writing about. As for the journal, however...I really do hope you all enjoy reading and learning about me, and hopefully I'll be able to learn things about you! I'm always open to making friends! I should be getting a new email address soon, as well, and I'd love to get emails from anyone. I mean, with being on the road with not much to do I wouldn't be shocked to try to spend a lot of time with the lap top. Gotta love those cigarette lighters! You can plug in anything! Ha Ha! I'll write again soon!

It was a long day, today. A good day, but long. -Smiles- This morning we went to Riaböjutsu because Kayla had a martial arts demo. Man, she was so awesome! The way she moved and seemed so concentrated...it was just amazing! I got to finally talk to her parents, Mark and Sally, there too! So, yeah, that was really nice!
After that the lot of us went to the mall. Well, Kayla didn't go because she wanted a chance to change her clothes before the barbeque (I'll get to that in a minute). Not too much went on at the mall. We stopped by a leather store so that Maggie could look around, and went to Hot Topic. I bought a new (school girl) skirt and this black tee with this devilish looking girl on it, and the print on it says "Little Devil". I love it! I'm not sure when I'm going to wear my new outfit though! Just depends!
We didn't stay at the mall too long because we didn't want to be late for the barbeque. We met at Kayla's house and she had changed into a Lion's jersey and blue jeans. It actually looked quite comfortable! The food was wonderful! All the usual barbeque, of course. Burgers, steak, chicken, chips and drinks. I thought Trevor would make himself explode with all the food he took! Haha! And yes...he ate ever last bit, and probably would've gone back for more if not for the look I gave him! I'm such a wonderful girlfriend, aren't I? During that time I caught up with everyone. It was really great to get Mark and Sally's views on how Kayla had changed over the years, and how I had changed from the last time they saw me.That night we all went out to a dance club down town. It was a lot of fun. Oh! Something weird happened though! There was this guy there, and I recognized him from the riot we passed on the way to the Star Bucks. He kept on staring at me so it was kind of scary for a while. Then when I turned to point him out to Trevor he had vanished. I was way spooked and Trevor was kind of getting crowded anyway, so we went out into a garden area outside the club. Now that was nice! Don't get any ideas! Trevor and I are waiting to do that until the absolute perfect moment! We did have a wonderful time, though! We talked, kissed, and cuddled. We just held eachother forever before the others started coming out and we left for the motel.
So, all in all, I had a pretty great day! I honestly don't think anything could ruin my great mood now! Well, we are taking Dustin to the airport tomorrow, and that will be hard. But I know that this is such a huge opportunity for Dustin, so I am happy for him! I know he'll make us all proud!
I suppose that's all I have for you today. It's not as long as my first entry, but thankfully I only had to cover one day this time! Until next time!(V)indy

*Cries* I don't know what to do!! Okay, we had to take Dustin to the airport today, but I told Trevor to just wait at the hotel b cuz he was sick! When we got back we had been ambushed by these guys....no one was seriously hurt...I got hit and that was about it....but Trevor was nowhere to be found! Oh, God! I hope he's okay! I gave a police man his discription and my cell number. I'm sorry, I can't write anymore today! I'll keep you updated on Trevor!
