Mindy Dawne
Mindy is our hero, she just doesn't know it yet. Mindy grew up in the Juneau Alaskan rai forest. She moved there with her parents at the age of 4 from Fair Oaks, California. In school she focused on the performing arts, mostly Choir and Drama, and has an interest in poetry as well. She's graduated from high school now, and instead of going to college, her and a few friends have decided to go on a road trip, starting in Alaska, working their way down through Canada and eventually to California. In California she hopes to meet up with her friends from when she was a baby, whom she has kept in close contact with over the internet. From there, they plan on seeing the rest of the country as they can.Jeremy
Jeremy was the first person Mindy met after moving to Juneau. I was he who had to convince Mindy that rain most of the year really wasn't such a bad thing, and that you do get used to it. Jeremy wasn't a popular kid, nor did he grow into a very popular teen. He's a very caring individual who loves to tutor other students. He hopes to one day get a job as a teacher at the high school. He's not a nerd though. He saved the "lives" of many teachers who lacked much needed computer experience. People don't pay much attention to him, and he doesn't get in the way, but his friends love him to pieces! He's always the one to ask when you need help with your homwork! He provides those on the road with access to his laptop (a gift from his parents) with it's cellular modem, so that they can keep in touch easier with family and friends. He also acts as navigator with his cd-rom atlas.Trevor
Trevor was the second person Mindy met in Juneau. Before she got there, he and Jeremy had been best friends. Mindy was introduced to Trevor by Jeremy a day or so after they met. Right away there was the spark of attraction (yes, at age 4). All of Trevor's life he has been into keeping fit. He's always exercizing lifting weights and such. In his Senior Year he was the Captain of the football team, the wrestling team, and the bowling team. He had decided to go out for bowling to challenge himself. Mindy finally confessed to Trevor of her cruch in the fourth grade, at which time he admitted to share the feeling. Strangely enough, they are still together today (awwwww). Trevor will often convince Mindy to go running with him, but he doesn't forget to show her his romantic side. Little notes and roses and such. He still calls Jeremy his best friend, and considers himself lucky to be in such good company. In his eyes, he has the perfect friends as well as the perfect girl. Life couldn't get any better! Trevor is the one driving everyone around, so this all couldn't happen without him!Dustin
Dustin was in Mindy's Drama class. He's the usual lead in all the school plays, and takes his acting very seriously. His passion is to memorize lines from any play whether it's a play that currently is running or not! He's also the type of friend who will go watch a choir concert, football game, or cheerleading competition just to be supportive of what people do. He dislikes watching television and avoids it as much as possible. His reason is that he wants to be an actor with his own sort of click. He doesn't want to get anything from on television performers. He has, though, done some small time acting jobs in and around Juneau, including a bit part in a local television series on public broadcast. This caught the attention of some Hollywood bigwigs. He is going on this first leg of the road trip as a sort of goodbye to his friends (for now anyways). When they reach Sacramento he will be taking a plane down to L.A. to begin filming on a movie (very hush hush).Maggie
Maggie would be considered the rebel of the group. People at school didn't understand why she'd be one of Mindy's friends. She's the leather jacket, cuts class, got a motorcycle for her 16th birthday girl. Maggie likes to hang out with the people she does because they are all unique and are all proud of who they are. She hates it when people only hang out with a certain type of person, and you have all the "cliques" everywhere. Oddly enough, she got passing grades. Since she was young she's gone out hunting with her father, and so she knows pretty well how to survive out in the wilderness. She also liked to go to street-races and would actually race her Harley sometimes. In fact, she has brought her Harley on the trip, and she has her own paper atlas, thank you very much. She has also brought along a shotgun (carefully hidden), just in case there are any major "problems" on the road, though she really hops she never has to use it against anything but soon-to-be food.
