I have broad experience in the design engineering field with extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, computers and management.  As you can see from the attached resume, I have a Master's degree in Engineering Science with a perfect 4.0 average in the graduate courses.  Also, I currently hold Secret and "Q" clearances.

Power Systems Design Engineering Manager; formerly Principal Engineer
March 1998 - Present

The Power Systems group designs and manufactures high technology aerospace and terrestrial energy conversion devices, including radioisotope thermoelectric generators (RTG’s), advanced energy systems, and hydrogen generators.  RTG’s have been used in numerous spacecraft as the sole power source.  My title is Manager of Design Engineering, supervising a department of 12 engineers and designers in the Power Systems Group.  I report to the VP Power Systems, who reports to the General Manager.  My concurrent duties also include Program Manager/Project Engineer for an RTG project with the US Department of Energy.  The responsibilities encompass the entire project including management, design, budget, schedule, and liaison, and I am an expert user of Primavera Project Planner management software.

TCOM, L.P. & Westinghouse Electric Corp., Aerostat Systems Dept.
TCOM was previously a division of Westinghouse (now Northrop Grumman) and became privately owned in 1989. TCOM had sales of approximately $50 million per year to military and civilian customers.  Primary product was high technology helium-filled aerostat balloons flying at 15,000 ft, tethered to the ground, and carrying sophisticated radar and communications electronics packages.  TCOM also manufactured the flexible structure hulls for manned airships.

Designed and checked out production machinery.  Initiated drawings and interfaced with drafting. Implemented cost reductions and wrote process specifications.  Responsible for design of machines that improved assembly from manual to full automation.
