Grieving - loss of a love

Sitting in my darkness, trying to write
Candles all lit for just enough light
Hard to see between all my tears
Shed for a love that was lost
After all these years

A bottle of tequilla and a bottle of lime
Washes away the pain in a matter of time
Mourning the death of the soul that died
Drowning the sorrows I feel inside

Killed the love you said you had for me
Holding on to something that could never really be
You in your life and I in mine
Should have known, dear, I was waisting my time

I drove you away
Now all that's left is the pain
Just sorrows and memories of a love that was new
Left sitting here now with nothing to do
Nothing to say, guess I will just stay away
Maybe you can forgive me
