The 1997 Nebraska law banning and criminalizing the now infamous D&X or "Partial Birth Abortion" is currently before the United States Supreme Court. The anti-choice stratagies keeps the language used to describe the D&X proceedure so vague that it could effectivly be used to ban all forms of surgical abortion, including standard 1st trimester abortions.

Hard-core anti-choice activists, such as Pastor Matt Trewhella and his "Missionaries to the Preborn" support bans of all abortion proceedures, including those caused by the morning after pill.

(Hmmm, It's going to be hard to outlaw parsley and basal thermometers!)

The average cost of the Contraceptive Pill is $2,000. to $4,000. for a 10-year supply. Compare this with the small cost of a basal thermometer, vitamin C and a few bunches of parsley, and you can figure out why most medical establishments and pharmeceutical companies don't teach or promote Natural Family Planning methods.

Modern birth control methods carry a vast array of side effects and physical ramifications including risk of blood clots, stroke, breast cancer, gall bladder disease, irregular spotting, severe pelvic inflammatory disease, uterine perforation, urinary tract infections, cervical inflammation, heavy and crampy periods, severe headaches, chronic yeast infections, allergic reactions to spermacides, to name a few. And for what? Women are fertile only about 9 days out of a month. Effectivness ratings given for these methods are not accurate, being based on the entire cycle, not just when a woman is fertile. Any method will be successful if the woman is not fertile! Effectiveness ratings would actually be much lower if comparison was for fertile days only. Males are fertile 100% of the time, and yet, only 3 methods exhist for men: vasectomy, condoms and withdrawl, compared to the 12 common methods for use by women.

Note: The thought processes and attitudes that determines and accepts these descriptions, lays the foundation for such harmful absurdities as advocating 'feminine hygeine sprays', and 'keeping clean' by using (dangerous) tampons; desire to undergo gynecological and cosmetic mutilations; acceptance of deadly anti-woman & misogynist supreme court rulings (such as recent ruling against an 'anti-rape law). The severe breakdown of self-esteem and desecration of bodily image of ourselves & our daughters in this society, is evidenced further by the deadly epidemics of anorexia and bulimia, chronic depression, self-abuse, indistinct boundries & victimization, continued deaths by unsafe abortions, acrimonity between women (who have no business not sticking together), ect., etc. Knowledge is power, and only by knowing, embracing the beauty and power of the feminine force, will women by their solidarity claim their potential to change the world.
