CONTROL KEY
In Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (UMK3) for the SNES, there are two punch buttons, two kick buttons, a run button, and a block button. You can use the D-Pad (Direction(al) Pad) to move your character around the screen. You can perform special and Finishing Moves during the game, by pressing the D-Pad and/or a series of Buttons. Once pressed, your character will perform the corresponding move. You can only do a finishing move (one of the highlilghts of the game) once your opponent's energy bar has completely depleted and the words "Finish Him" fllash up on the screen. And to perform them, you must be standing a certain distance from the your opponent.

MOVES

Each move corresponds to the following buttons on the SNES controller:

High Punch = Y Button
High Kick = X Button
Low Punch = B Button
Low Kick = A Button
Block = L Button
Run = R Button

Press the corresponding button to the move you want and your character will perfrom that basic move.

ABBREVEATIONS

To make it easier to write move lists, finishing moves, etc. Each basic move has an abbreveation written in capital letters. The abbreveations are as follows:

High Punch = HP
High Kick = HK
Low Punch = LP
Low Kick = LK
Run = RN
Block = BLK
Forward = F
Back = B
Right = R
Left = L

In addition, there's also a plus sign +

When you see this plus sign (+), that means to press the two buttons together at the same time. There are also these additional buttons.

Hold = Hld.

Release = Rel.

DR = Down Right (Diagnolly Right)

DL = Down Left (Diagnolly Left)

UR = Up Right

UL = Up Left

Also, whenever you see moves in paranthesis, that means that you must press those buttons, while holding the previous buttons down (as endacated).

BASIC MOVES

Press these buttons to perform the following basic moves. These moves are the same for every character. They are:

Roundhouse - B+HK

Sweep - B+LK

Elbow - Stand close to your opponent and press any punch button.

Knee - Stand close to your opponent and press any kick button.

Well, that's it. Refer to my 'Special & Finishing Moves' section to learn how to do special and finishing moves for each character. Or click right here for me to take you there.
