Welcome to the Weapons Gallery section of the Port of Adia. On this page I will have a list, along with a description, of each weapon, and what it does. Along with how much ammo you can hold for that particular weapon, and if it upgrades or not. I will also tell you what I personally think about the weapon. I will divide this into two parts, the cool factor, and the usefullness factor. For the cool factor, I will just tell you how cool I think the weapon looks, shoots, etc. Does it look cool? What happens when it fires? I will tell you how neat I think each weapon is, based on looks & firing. But, just because it looks cool, or I like the way it shoots, or it's name, etc. Doesn't actually mean that the weapon is a good one. Remember, looks aren't everthing. Which leads up to my second part. The usefullness factor. Even though a weapon might look very cool, doesn't necessarily means it will perform well. Is this weapon usefull against taking out the many different enemies that Turok will face during his adventure. I will tell you how good I think the weapon is against the enemies. Is it effective? I will then rate it on a scale of zero to twenty. Zero means the weapon is total crap. Five means it sucks, but it will get the job done, eventually. Ten means it will get the job done, but it's not perfect. Fifteen means it's a pretty good weapon to use and you probably won't regret using it on the enemies in the game. And finally, twenty means it's a excellent weapon that gets the job done very effectivly. You won't regret using it and will probably use it the most out of all the weapons. Remember that this is just my opinion. I will also rate the cool factor on a scale of zero to ten. Ten being the best, zero being the worst, and five being average. And you'll pretty much have to guess what I mean when I give it a in-between rating, I'm not going to go through and explain what every number in-between means, it's pretty self-explanetory. The number that's in bold is the rating I gave it on the particular scale. Well, here's the weapons.
FLARE - The flare is one of the first three weapons that Turok starts out with (along with the Talon, and Bow & Arrow). Although the flare isn't exactly considered a weapon, as it doesn't actually harm the enemy. You can use it to light up the surrounding area with a greenish fire ball that will stick to most surfaces and light up the surrounding area. It has unlimited ammo, but must be recharged once fired (It only takes a couple seconds to recharge).
COOL FACTOR - Well, you can only go so far as to calling a flare gun cool, but I do think it's a nice weapon, and I like the way the greenish fireball flare burns as it lights up the area. And then starts shrinking until it finally burns out. Neat effect.

USEFULNESS FACTOR - The flare gun is a very useful and effective way of seeing in the dark. Shooting weapons (especially the Flame Thrower) will light up the surrounding area too. But would you really want to waste that much ammo when you can just use the flare gun. And it has unlimited uses, which makes it even better. The charge thing doesn't really bother me, as it charges quite fast, and one flare will usually light up a lot of space around the place it's set. The only thing that I think was overlooked, or that Iguana should have included in their game, was either a underwater flare, or they should have just let you use the flare gun underwater. I would have preferred the latter. Anyway they didn't include it, but it would have helped a lot. But in overall usefullness, the Flare gun comes in pretty handy when your stuck in the dark.

TALON - The Talon is a close ranged weapon that is worn strapped to the hand with leather bands around the wrist. It has an impressive pair of twin blades that can be very powerful to a skilled warrior. The Talon will eventually up-grade to the more powerfull War Blade. No Ammo.
COOL FACTOR - A think that the Talon is a cool idea of a weapon that is used in place of the usual knife, from the first Turok. I think it looks pretty cool and is a smart idea.

USEFULNESS FACTOR - The Talon is a pretty useful close range basic weapon. But it isn't very effective against the bigger, stronger enemies, found in the later stages. If you are to use the Talon in the later stages, you will defenately want to use the War Blade, as it is a lot more effective.

THE BOW (& ARROW) - The Bow is also one of the three basic weapons that Turok starts out with. It is made of wood and fires standard arrows. The longer you hold the button (or the farther you pull the string back) the farther and more deadly the arrow will fly. Once you have shot a standard arrow at an enemy, you can see the arrows sticking out of the enemies (or the wall, floor, roof, etc.), and, if reachable, they can be picked up again by walking up and toaching them (Just as you would collect a standard weapon or ammo). The Bow & Arrow is Turok's first distance weapon. The Bow (and Arrow) will eventually upgrade to the Tek Bow and Tek Arrows. You can hold up to twenty standard arrows.
COOL FACTOR - The bow isn't really that great in the coolness department. It's just a standard, everyday, wooden Bow! But I do think that the effect of actually being able to see the arrows stick out of the opponents or object you shot it at is very cool. But as for the Bow itself, well, just look at my rating below. . .

USEFULNESS FACTOR- Believe it or not, the Bow is actually a very usefull weapon (And the Bow part [Not the arrows] is exactley the same as the Tek Bow, just with different names [Well they look different, but they perfrom the same). It can shoot far (If the button is held down all the way) and it is pretty deadly (Kills a lot of the earlier enemies in one or two shots). The only down side to the Bow & Arrow, is that you can't shoot Tek Arrows with the standard Bow. It also doesn't have a sniper mode. But other than that, it's a excellent weapon, and is very usefull on the earlier stages. But as you get farther into the game, you'll defenately want to upgrade to the Tek Bow and use that instead.
