Lake Linville              The Fair          "A Mule Pull" at the Fair.

Lake Linville, Brodhead's "Little World's Fair.

Lake Linville came to be, at a time when rationing water was common in Mt. Vernon during the summer, due to their sole water supply being a "small" lake located on the Old Brodhead Road. Clyde Linville had a great deal to do with the building of the lake, But of course, many others shared in the responsibility.

One week out of each year, the Brodhead Fair is in full swing. This is a very exciting time for the young and the old. The original Fairground was located in Brodhead, just west of present day West Street on property currently owned by Mr Cleston Saylor.
