BEYERDYNAMIC DT531 Headphones.

These Beyer's were the first pair of decent headphones that I bought and the sound difference between cheap headphones and these came as an absolute shocker. I have listened to many pairs of similarly priced ones but for some reason these phones have really grown on me. We are virtually inseparable!

Although the Beyer's are not as detailed and refined as the STAX, these lovely's still play a large part in my private listening as they will plug into just about anything. The only trouble with the STAX is that they are wired into the system and cannot easily be taken away for use in another room etc unlike these.

I tend to use these Beyer's quite regularly for listening to my television and laserdiscs late at night. I am quite a night owl and often sit watching movies till two or three in the morning, my parents don't particularly appreciate me disturbing their sleep with blood curdling screams from horror movies and explosions from science-fiction movies at that time in a morning. So I wear them to keep the peace but they do sound surprisingly better than the normal speaker on the TV so who cares!

Like all things I suppose, the Beyer's do have their down side. The crushed velvet ear pads do tend to get a little bit grubby after a while and they can also be uncomfortable and make your head sweat after a while. Other than that they are absolutely fine.
