Sumiko Blue Point II MC Cartridge.
I have fitted a SUMIKO BLUE POINT Moving Coil cartridge to my Rega Planar 3 as the deck does not come supplied with a cartridge as standard.
The Blue Point is ideally suited to the Rega but because of the somewhat deeper body shell of the cartridge, a spacer has to be fitted between the tonearm and the plinth to raise the arm height slightly. I must say that it is a bit precarious fitting the cartridge as it doesn't have a guard and the tonearm leads are not the tightest fitting that I have come across but it certainly performs when its all done.

What the reviewers said;
Audiophiles - and audio reviewers - were amazed by the sound of the original Blue Point high output moving coil phono cartridge. "Blue Point has to rank as one of the best, if not the best, values in all of high-end audio," enthuses Corey Greenberg in Stereophile Vol. 16, No. 4, April 1993.
"The inner workings are the same, but we improved the body to create better energy transfer between the cartridge and the tonearm," reports Sumiko Vice President Stirling Trayle. "The new Blue Point is faster and more detailed than the old one. It's sonically much closer to the Blue Point Special."
Blue Point is a high output moving-coil cartridge, which can be used with nearly any preamp or receiver phono stage. The Blue Point tracks superbly with almost any tonearm. Blue Point offers exceptional detail, dynamics, and wonderful bass. You'll love it!
The REGA deck with a RB300 and the SUMIKO BLUE POINT always gives a lovely performance whatever the type of music you lean towards. The Bass is always tight and well controlled and the treble is a touch dry but not obtrusive. Overall I'm impressed
