| If you were to take SIN and make it into a color, what color would
it be? According to Isaiah 1:18 God says ... "though your sins be as scarlet, they
shall be as white as snow; though they be RED like crimson, they shall be as wool." So
let's have this red silk represent sin. |
 |
| Too often, instead of dealing with our sin by confessing it, we try
to hide it, bury it as deep as we can, in hopes that we won't get caught. |
 |
| When nothing happens, we convince ourselves that we have gotten
away with it, and won't get into trouble. After all, no one saw me do it, no one will
find out, so what's the big deal? But someone did see. Someone does know about your
sin. And that someone is God! The Bible tells us in Proverbs 15:3 that "the eyes of
the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good". |
 |
| In other words, God sees EVERYTHING you do, and knows about that
sin that you are trying to hide. And in Numbers 32:23 God warns us to "be sure your sin
will find you out." You can't hide your sin from God! |
 |
| Let me expand this further by showing you this cube. Let's pretend
that this cube is you. No, I'm not calling you a square or blockhead, I just want us to
pretend for a moment that this is you. |
 |
| These ropes we will have represent SIN. Did you know that the Bible
tells us that ALL have sinned and fallen short of God's glory? That word "all" includes
YOU! So these ropes slide through the center of the cube to help us understand that all
of us have sin in our bodies. |
 |
| Now we place the cube with the ropes running through it into this
clamp to illustrate the verse in the Bible that tells us we are bound by the cords of
our sin. There is nothing you can do to save yourself, no matter how hard you try to be
good, the fact is: the wages of sin is death! Because of your sin, you are locked into
a Christless eternity in Hell. |
 |
| But John 3:16 tells us that God loved you so much that He gave His only
Son - Jesus to pay the price for your sins. He died on the cross in your place. And if
you place your faith in Him as your savior, He shall set you free! By placing your trust
in Jesus Christ, you are headed to an eternity in Heaven! |
