We are just getting started with the fish carvings. These images show the carvings ready for painting.
Rainbow Trout - Carved from basswood and mounted on a natural limb. The fish is 12in. long and 4in. tall. Overall the display is 18in. long and 8in. tall. The carving is primed and awaiting paint.
Perch - This Bluegill is 9in. long, 1 1/2 thick, and 6in. tall, not counting the base the fish will be mounted on. Carving on the Perch is not yet completed.
White River Drifters - This was inspired by fishing trips to the White River in Mountain Home, Arkansas. The piece is 14 inches tall, 12 inches long and 4 inches wide. Turn the crank and the trout swims back and forth while the waves move and the boat rocks. The from fisherman casts his rod and has hooked the guides hat. As the fisherman casts, his arm moves up and down moving the rod back and forth. His line pulls the hat up with each cast as the guides hands raise to grab the hat. The piece is carved from pine and painted with acrylics in an antique manner.
