Black Knight 2000 was released in April of 1989. It was designed by Steve Richie, and the art work was done by Doug Watson (check out the Shadow page for more of his work).

A re-make of Steve's 1980 Black Knight (he also later did a re-make of his 1986 High Speed called "The Getaway"). This is a classic, and to many their favorite, Steve Richie game. It's a fast and furious game with bright colors and sounds.

The game follows the two levels of the original but benefits from the technology gained over nine years. Only one "Magna Save" rather than the two on the 1980 version.

Another fast Steve Ritchie game. In order to do well in this game it is wise to keep the ball on the upper playfield. Big points can come fast playing the top playfield. Spelling "WIN" and "WAR" increases bonus multiplers and provides Ransoms (mega points). Hitting the 3 targets in front of the drawbridge will lower the gate and allow access to the holding area for multiball play. Various other plays will light up rewards for going through the drawbridge. The bottom playfield is fast. Going around the U-Turn in the middle of the lower playfield catapaults the ball back hard at the flippers. Making the Spin hole randomly spins the light wheel in the middle of the playfield for  random bonuses. Spelling "Knight" enables the Magna Save which can literally pull back a ball that starts to drain in the right outlane. The two keys to winning at BK2K are being able to relaunch the ball back to the upper playfield through two lanes and being a good speller and completing those words for big bonuses/rewards.
