NEWS LETTER

VOLUME XXXVII

FUND RAISER

The Sees Candy fundraiser was a success last year. We raised a little more than $400.00. Thanks for all of your help during that time. We look forward to doing it again near the end of this year. So remember to stalk up on your sweets through AUDIO VISION.

TECHNICAL PROBLEMS, "AND HOW!"

Those of you volunteers, who are used to using Studio B, probably already know about our technical difficulties. The record amplifier is going out on Studio Bs recorder. This piece of equipment is about 15 years old. Although these machines are pretty sturdy, there comes a time when things have to give up the ghost. This may be that time. In the mean time, until it gets repaired or replaced, it works most of the time. It just takes a while to get it going. So hang in there and be patient. We hope to have the problem solved one way or another soon.

COMPUTER AGE SLOWLY APROACHING AUDIO VISION

Since January, I have been working on several grants to fund the equipment improvements in the studios. We are planning to install computers in each of the studios and control room. This means that all of our production will be recorded, stored, and played straight from the hard disk on computers. This will eliminate the use of the problematic reel to reel machines. This will also make it easier for us to edit material and do a rebroadcast of headline Edition in the evenings. We hope the transition from analog to digital will come to fruition by mid summer. It will take very little training. Dont be nervous!

LISTENERSHIP

Since we have moved to our new office last June, we have been able to order and send out more than 30 radio receivers. This brings our current listening audience to more than 800 people. We currently have approximately 15 people on a waiting list. We hope to be able to purchase more radio receivers in July.

LETS GET TOGETHER

Kelly, Tim and I are privileged to know and work with each and every one of you. Many of you come in and work at your scheduled time and never get a chance to meet the Other wonderful volunteers who make up AUDIO VISION. I havent done this in several years, but, in the past, have proven to be very fun. Please come to the AUDIO VISION appreciation get together. This will be Saturday, June 26, at 7:00 P.M. at Toms house. Bring your spouse, friend, or significant other. Also bring an appetite. Please RSVP no later than June 11. It will be lots of fun. Be sure and try to make it.
