
This stamp was on sale only from 6 November 1860 until 6 December same year, when appeared the new half Tornese stamp, obtained by modifing the central drawing of the previous stamp with a Savoy cross.
Kingdom of Two Sicilies was formed by Naples Kingdom and Sicily Kingdom, capital was Naples and King from 1830 was Ferdinando II di Borbone and, from 1859, his son Francesco II.
In September 1860 a Provisional Governement took the power and 21 October voted annexation to Italy Kingdom.
Currency was the Ducato, made of 100 Grana, made of 200 Tornesi
Stamps were printed in Naples by Mr. Masini and De Masa, using a thick and porous paper, with Borbonic lily watermark ( not all the stamps have watermark because it was not enough spreaded). Here you have 1 and 2 grana stamps .

All started with the half Grana stamp
This stamp was then modified in colour and value was changed by converting the G (of Grana) in T (of Tornese), so that the value became half Tornese (= one fourth of Grana ) and it was used to dispatch newspapers and printed matters that used this favour fee.
