Cannibalism
Look at a person on your left or right. If you had to choose between dying a slow, humiliating, uncomfortable death and eating that person, which would you pick? Although many of you would find the obvious solution appalling, it is not the first time, and most likely not the last time that this decision has been made.
I believe, and found out that most of you also believe that our country has some serious problems. These problems are an overall population and uncontrolled population growth, detention facility growth and population, and approaching meat deficiencies among the populations. These reasons are why I believe cannibalism is a solution to many of our problems.
Our nation is populated at a now-appalling rate.
As of year 2000-the U.S. was populated by over 275 million people.
Every year there are almost two x as many births as deaths
By year 2025 the pop. is projected to reach 338 million in the U.S.
The pop. is expected to double in 120 years.
In the states there is average 74 people per square mile
Although this soon-to-be population crisis could be more easily averted by our government, they view the current population as ?satisfactory?.
Not only is our nation overcrowded, but our detention facilities are also. All but one of you believed our prisons are becoming overpopulated.
In 1971 the U.S. had less than 200,000 inmates
but by 1996 the U.S. had 1.7 million inmates
2. California alone has more inmates than most other countries.
3. Even though the U.S.?s crime rate is at a six year low, the prison population rose 5 % this year. That is an increase of 85,000 people in one year.
4. Every year housing and feeding of American prisoners exceeds 120 billion dollars.
5. New York, Texas and California spend more money on incarceration than on education.
6. Prisoner?s costs average 30,000 dollars a year, more than a lot of people bring home after taxes.
92 % of you indicated in my survey that meat is a necessity in your diet. Although
a person could live without meat, it would cause many un-necessary problems.
Some of these problems are;
1. Protein deficiencies because no other food contains as high a source of biological protein, which is essential for growth, repair and maintenance of cells.
2. Vitamin deficiencies because meat provides large quantities of B1, B2, niacin, iron, vitamins A, D and also B12, which is not found in plant foods.
However, today?s meat also has its problems, mostly dealing with safety and disease. Improperly cared for meat can cause
1. food poisoning
2. E Coli
3. salmonella
and
4. digestive problems.
Some meat already contains disease such as
1. mad cow disease
2. wasting disease
3. foot and mouth disease
and
4. brucellosis
All of these, and many other problems of today could be improved by cannibalism.
Cannibalism would improve the nation by;
1. Cutting down population growth
2. Thinning out the population
and
3. Ensuring a healthier population in a ?survival of the fittest style?
In the same ways cannibalism could be used creatively to thin out prison populations, which would in turn lower crime rates and prison expenses. This would also give back to the taxpayers who supported those prisons by supplying them with a healthy source of nutrition.
If meat was available in such quantities to all people no one would suffer from vitamin deficiencies. Also, people would not have to worry about E Coli, or any of the diseases carried by animal meat. Such a surplus of meat would cut down on the price of all meat.
Please, remember that the population will have doubled before your children have passed away. Man is at the top of the food chain and we must control our own population. So far, we don't seem to be doing it so well. This is why I believe a self-arbitrated action should be taken by the general population to push for cannibalism. Please, encourage everyone you know to support cannibalism and even to practice it. Do you want your children to live in a world twice as crowded as we already are today?
