May 20th Meeting Minutes
Next, an award was presented to Troy Comfort, our 1999 Business Associate of the Year by Jean Widmann who had nominated Troy for this important honor. (Incidentally, several co-workers of Troy's were present for the event .)
After dinner was served, announcements were made and then Ginger McGill introduced our guest speaker for the evening, Dionne Bagsby, Tarrant County Commissioner. Waunita Moore led us in our Benediction to end the meeting.

The Business Associates Event was held on May 20th at the Windsor at Westbury Manor. The meeting began with our President, Waunita Moore, leading us in a welcome to all of the attendees, as well as reciting our Invocation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Next the award ceremony for the evening was presented by Adele Brautigam, our Business Associate Event Chairwoman. Adele presented an award to Lynne Walraven, our Chapter Woman of the Year. She also presented an award to Sarah Knotts, our 1999 Distinguished Circle of Success Award recipient. Sue Brosovic, our Education Chairwoman, presented awards to our two scholarship recipients: Jania Villarroel and Becky Giles.
Haystack Supper
15-20 minutes. Spoon over rice. Sprinkle with lettuce and tomatoes. In a saucepan, melt butter. Stir in flour until smooth. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes. Reduce heat; stir in American cheese until melted. Pour over the tomatoes. Top with cheddar cheese and olives. Serve with chips. Refrigerate any leftovers. Yield: 8-10 servings. Note: This recipe can easily be halved. It is great for potlucks and family reunions.
1-3/4 cups crushed saltines (about 40 crackers)
2 cups cooked rice
3 pounds ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1-1/2 cups tomato juice
3/4 cup water
3 tablespoons taco seasoning mix
Seasoned salt, salt & pepper to taste
4 cups shredded lettuce
3 medium tomatoes, diced
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
4 cups milk
1 pound process American cheese, cubed
3 cups (12 ounces) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 jar (10 ounces) stuffed olives, drained and sliced
1 package (14-1/2 ounces) tortilla chips.
