October 21st Arlington Pacesetters Meeting Minutes

Guests:  4

Shirley opened with a few announcements and introduced the guests.  Our President gave the invocation and led the pledge.   After a lovely dinner, we listened attentively to our wonderful guest speakers on the subject of Y2K -- a subject which is on everyone's mind.  The first speaker was Barbara Skarshaug with Bank of America.  If you have any questions, please contact Bank of America on the Internet at www.bankofamerica.com.  Our second speaker was very exciting and very informative as to what we should have prepared at our homes (Anita Foster with the Red Cross).  When preparing for Y2K, you should think of it as a disaster and have water, nonperishable food, blankets, gloves, flashlights, bat

teries, radio, and stuff to keep you and your kids entertained.  You should also know where your shelters are and how to get to them.  They both stated that nothing may happen but be prepared.
We continued the meeting with our raffle and Lynne, Debbie, and Adele spoke to us about National Convention and what a good time they had.  Ginger also went with them, but she was not feeling well and was not at our meeting.
We went over the notes of the September meeting.  Motion was made to approve by Rosemary Brown and Seconded by Debbie Lady.  Voted on the Christmas Party being at Linda Dingee's home.  Everyone can bring a covered dish plus $5 to donate for meat.  Spouses welcome.  Also, bring a $10 gift.  Girls bring a girl's gift and boys bring a boy's gift.  Meet at 6:30 PM.
The November meeting will be at Gabberts in Ft. Worth on  November 11 at 6":30 PM.  Cost $15.  Dinner at 7:00 PM.  Tour at 7:45 PM.  Business meeting afterward.  Call Shirley or Adele with your reservation and guests.
Still have not decided what to do for Christmas -- either collect a list of children's names from Mission Arlington or pick a retirement or nursing (Adult Day care).  Give useful items or money.  Thanksgiving it was decided to collect $5 from all members and give to Mission Arlington.  Motion made by Teresa Burgin and seconded by Lynne Walraven.   TCAF--November 13th in Dallas at the Renaissance 9:00 AM--$17.

Sincerely,

Sheryl Hentze
