How you can save on long distance national and international call charges.

Provided you are willing to receive more than one phone bill and in some cases remember to dial the override number, savings can be made on all long distance calls.

Tips for saving when using the Mercury Wireless & Egram System.

Remember to dial the override number(where applicable) to switch over to Mercury Wireless & Egram or
Register with us as the preferred carrier - no need to dial the pre-selected number.
Check out your calling patterns, including the time and day which you make most of your calls ie peak, off peak & economy �
Duration of each call, if you want to keep within your budget call during the off peak hours if possible.

Important Terms

Override

Four digit number that allows you to switch from current local carrier (usually Optus and Telstra) to Mercury Wireless & Egram, by initially dialing the override followed by the destination phone number.

Registered Customers

Mercury Wireless & Egram does not require you to dial an override once you register with them as your preferred long distance and international carrier.

Peak -- Peak time for our customers is between 8am--6pm

Off Peak -- Off peak for our customers is between 6pm -- 8am

Peak Rate for National calls is 18 cents per minute

Off Peak Rate for National calls is 14 cents per minute

Special rates -- other than standard national call charge will occur during certain times of the year.

Connection Fee -- An initial connection fee applies to all calls, we have set our rate at 15 cents per flagfall.

Billing increment -- All calls are billed in 1 second increments. Billing -- billing to our customers is on a monthly basis.
