What is Release Therapy? Release therapy is a powerful program for healing the effects of childhood abuse. Many of the more traditional ways of treating childhood abuse do not manage to get to the root of the problem or deal with the phenomenon of repressed pain. Until this pain is "processed" - retrieved from the unconscious, fully experienced, and grieved over, the person will remain trapped in the patterns of the childhood experience. .

How do you know if you need Release Therapy? Many people are abused in childhood - either physically sexually or emotionally. As children, these people have forced to regress their feelings about this abuse because of their fear of losing their parents 'love'. They grow into physical maturity whilst responding to many situations in the way they did when they were children. Abandonment, rejection, inadequacy, neediness, shame, 'bad or wrong' are all normal childhood feelings, but they are not appropriate to adulthood. If you are feeling these feelings much of the time then this therapy could help you. It will enable you to release repressed feelings from childhood and come into adult reality, able to express your present feelings and meet your present needs.

What does Release Therapy do? Once we have consciously returned to the most deeply painful events our our own childhoods and come to be aware of all that was hidden, we cannot hurt others without feeling their pain too. We will no longer believe that power or wealth can give us anything truly important. We will not be able to live with anything less than the truth, for ourselves and others. And the best part is, the more sanity we attain, the more peaceful we become. In an attempt to hide the pain of the childhood abuse, we construct a "false self" - a self that will be driven to try to be whatever their unconscious thinks will bring them love. this is usually an attempt to please the unloving parent enough to make that parent change into what the child needs. Release therapy is designed to identify these problems and allow the adult to grieve for the abuse suffered as an innocent child. Until this grief and emotional turmoil has been identified and re-experienced, the adult will always live as a false self.
