HOW DO YOU CURE MAD COW DISEASE ?
Well...
The First Rule of Creative Thinking (?) is never throw out any idea.
Modify it. Improve on it. Figure out under what circumstances it could do anything at all, then WHY. (Then what its really doing/good-for.)
STOP HERE and think about it (I assume you know a minimal amount about the disease...).
So, lets get real simple.
The cure for Mad Cow Disease is...
...You Remove The Prions!
Proposal # 1: You take Sized Filters (like reverse osmosis) that stop everything bigger than the prions (from the blood), then filters that release everything smaller than the prions, and give back the blood WITHOUT the prions.
Proposal # 2: You make tiny Robots (they're in use in research at this moment) and (if they're not small enough to enter cells or whatever) you put sensors and tools on their legs/arms/whatever. Maybe magnetic resonance, like in virtual reality suits. Then you find and eliminate the prions.
-Suggestion A: Electroplate them with something so they can't reproduce.
-Suggestion B: Break up the prions.
-Suggestion C: Change them chemically.
-Suggestion D: The Robots have chambers or bags to contain the prions, to remove or catalytically destroy them.
-Suggestion E: Anything you want (your turn).
Proposal # 3: Use high powered computers to create antibodies (grown in the lab?) that will eliminate prions (by surrounding & "imprisoning" them).
Proposal # 4: Gene splice a bacterium that survives in the body/blood so it Eats prions (and destroys them).
Proposal # 5: Use high powered computers to create a device producing a resonate frequency (combination) that produces a pocket-universe/hyperspace-wormhole/whatever around the prion (and only that) so it no longer exists in this universe/dimension.
Proposal # 6: Find enzyme combinations to destroy prions.
Proposal # 7: Tie up the amino acids that the prions use to duplicate theirselves.
Proposal # 8: Change the protein to sulfer-based or silicon based.
Proposal # 9: You put the animal in a "Tron Computer" or simulation and recreate it cell-by-cell or atom-by-atom with nanites/tiny-robots controlling everything possible.
Proposal # 10: You borrow from the X-FILES show where a device caused carbon granules to form in the body/blood and adapt it to surround or destroy prions. (They showed a notice that this type of technology is actually in existance).
Proposal # 11: You use tiny robots with a temporarily frozen animal and remove the top 1/100 th inch of the animal and destroy/remove the prions, then the next 1/100 th inch and eliminate the prions and connect that layer to the one above, then continue layer-by-layer down through the animal.
