Here's the way it works... There are huge computing jobs like making animated movies, or processing weather models that require a tremendous amount of processing power. And there are millions of computers like yours and mine that just sit idle much of the time.
The ProcessTree Network brings these two groups together. Those that have BIG computing jobs can now get them done faster and cheaper, and people like you and me can turn our computers into little money making machines. We're not talking about a lot of money that can be made from one computer. But it could be enough to pay for your online account or it could be some fun money as a credit with an online retailer.
In a March 31, 1999 press release John Gilmore, co-founder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation said: "In the long run, we hope to move beyond prizes, catalyzing a market where ordinary people can sell the spare time on their computers to others who need to compute something overnight on thousands or millions of machines. This would reduce the net cost of owning a personal computer, and open new opportunities in animation, product design, economics, cryptanalysis, science, and business."
ProcessTree is the Internet's first 'for-pay' distributed processing network. Sign up with ProcessTree and someday (summer 2000?) you will be able to use the idle time of your computer to make money. Sign up others and start building your own branch of the ProcessTree. You'll get a percentage of the payments that go to the computers below you in your branch organization.
So, check it out because this will be BIG go through this link SM
One more thing, there is no obligation to stay in the network nor any commitment to actually process any jobs. If at some point in the future you decide this really isn't for you, you can just send them a message.
