PRESENTATION 1
NEWSPAPER, ALUMINUM CANS, AND SUPERSACKS

Our first presentation to management was concerning our efforts in recycling newspaper, aluminum cans, and super sacks. The presentation was held January 20, 1993.

NEWSPAPERS In our seconds area, we wrap all of our ware in newspaper for shipment. We were purchasing our newspaper from a the OXFORD PUBLIC LEDGER. We now have our employees bring their newspaper from home. This saves the company money from purchasing newspaper to wrap our seconds in, but also keeps the newspaper our employees from going into the landfill, and reuses the newspaper and keeps it alive.

ALUMINUM CANS We have canned drink machines located in the employee entrance, the break room, and in our cafeteria. The aluminun cans were going into the trash cans. By putting up bins for our aluminum cans, we kept the cans out of the landfill, and provided the team of a resource for funding for projects.

SUPERSACKS The first question you may have, is what are supersacks? Well, they are the large sacks that the clay we recieve to make our fine china giftware comes from. These sacks, also were going into the trash. We sell the sacks to local farmers. we also allow employees to purchase sacks for projects such as leaf collection.
