Procedures (Rules) - Steinberger - 24E - 2007-2008-(Web)

General

1. Fire Drill Procedures.
- Line up x 2 on stubby wall
- Teacher gets student list
- Students go out in hall to the right, stop before hallway.
- Teacher checks room
- Teacher escorts students outside
- Teacher takes attendance - Reports any missing students
- Any student(s) left in building at time of evacuation must report back to teacher outside    at time of drill/evacuation.

2. Beginning of Class - All students sit at Class Desks for Information.

3. Attendance is always first item, Attendance is now taken twice, before lecture, demo, questions or going to washroom. (Homeroom – List leaves the room, student is out of room, student is considered late.)

4. Hall Pass - Students complete for teacher's signature. No student is allowed out directly after recess and lunch. Hall Passes must be returned.

5. Sign-Out Sheet - Must be completed by student before leaving the room.

6. Drinking - Just go to fountain directly outside door of 24E. Can only go on students' time not during lecture or demo. No other fountain is allowed. No permission is required. Only 1 student at a time.

7. Attire - No Cargos. Only white T-Shirts, and Polos and RHS  or Dark Red Sweaters. All other attire if not allowed must be in locker and is not allowed to be brought into class or remain in class.

8. Discipline, Pink Sheets. Short 100/250/500 word essays. Rules recopied. Notation slips in file. After 5 parents informed.
Larger worded essays or recommendation for suspension will be sent to office.

9. Students may use the room during the lunch periods so long as they
a) are using the facilities for school purposes and not personal reasons b) arrive at the beginning of lunch when Mr. Steinberger allows them to enter, c) they participate in taking responsibility for the room and the other participants, and d) they also participate in maintaining the room on a regular basis.

10. Students may use the room after school so long as they a) are using the facilities for school purposes and not personal reasons, b) they participate in taking responsibility for the room and the other participants,  c) they also participate in maintaining the room on a regular basis; and d) they leave by 1615 hours unless they have a signed letter or note from their parent allowing them to stay longer.

11. Unless told otherwise, no assignments are to be left on the teacher’s desk. All assignments are usually corrected at the desk and given back after mark is recorded.

12. The two back rooms in 24e are out of bounds to all students.

13. No student is allowed to write on the whiteboard with any markers.

14. No Laser Lights, Dice, Cards, walkmans, MP3s, or cell phones. They will be confiscated.

15. No Magnets are permitted into the room.

16. Any exam make-ups other than Dec and May-June Exams are done after school only.

17. No Balls are allowed in the room of any kind. It will be confiscated and held until June.

18. All students are not to move, gesture or make any noise when the class intercom comes on with announcements, whether the announcement applies to them or not.

19.   No student may touch anything on the teacher’s desks other than the stapler, sign-out sheet or hall pass.

20.  Any assignments are to be done in either dark blue, black or dark pencil. (Any other colour will get a zero)

21. Any student coming to class with inappropriate attire or out of uniform may be either:
a) sent to the office; or
b) sent to their locker; or
c) have the inappropriate clothing item taken and held until June; or
d) told to remain in suspension in class until the end of the class.

Computers

1.  All students are responsible for checking their own computers at the beginning of class and reporting any discrepancies.

2. Students are to supply their own save or back-up disks or USB flash disks. The school supplies the main save or backup disks, the students are responsible for buying their own save or back-up disks for as many times as needed.

3. No student is allowed to touch or work another student's computer unless given specific permission by the teacher, and not by a student.

4. No student is allowed to delete another person's work on his/her own computer unless given permission by the teacher. Any student caught deleting another person’s work will be dealt with severely.

5. A student upon finding the log on name is not correct (not the proper one) are to log off immediately and then log on to the correct one.

6. A student should back-up their work at least twice a week to ensure that their back-up is as current as possible. A Zip-Iomega has been made available for back-up, but the student is required to supply their own disk(s).

7. A student is not allowed to copy another student's work, or work for another student, or do work for another student. This is equivalent to cheating and may result in all parties involved getting zeros on that assignment(s).

8. Students may not bring their own software into the lab, nor are they permitted to copy any software existing on the computers for their own use.

9. Students may purchase their own disks.
10. Student(s) accept responsibility for overprinting
All Classes - .10 per sheet.
$1.00 Rounded Admin Charge if not paid before end of year.
(Admin charge will be added upon report card pick-up)

11.  Students are not permitted to use ICQ, MSN Messenger, or any other email or computer service in the lab unless given specific permission to do so.

12.  Students are not allowed to bring any software, CD’s, electronic equipment, solar powered equip., or unauthorized disks into the lab.

13.  Students are not allowed to plagiarize. Any student who has plagiarized a paper will have all marks pertaining to that paper, changed to zero. The zero mark will also be applied to past term marks thus changing the past term  marks.

14. Students are not permitted to download any music, software or programs into their computers.

15 Students are not permitted to change any settings on their assigned computers.

16. No student may play games  in the lab unless given permission by the teacher.

17.  All students must keep their files in the thaw space in their designated folders otherwise the files left out will be deleted.

18. Students may only work on their assigned tasks and nothing else unless given specific permission to do so.
 

Marks

Teacher may use 10% of the term as a mark for attitude, class participation, behaviour, deportment and attendance as part of the overall mark.

POP Rules (Only for the Grade 9 or Sec III Classes)

1. No POP assignments will be corrected until the procedures or rules are given in for marks and the mark has to be above 90% for the procedures alone.

2. All assignments must have assignment numbers, authors name and class section to count for points.

3. All assignments are to be done in the order assigned. No assignment will be corrected out of order given.

4. All Kits must be returned to lockers at the end of class.
