Welcome to my site that is solely for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, NASCAR!!! This is the place where you can find out all of the latest news, race results and happening around the NASCAR world.

I am a avid follower of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) and Dale Earnhardt is my favorite driver and his son, Dale Earnhardt Jr., is my second favorite. To learn more about these drivers as well as the rest of the NASCAR drivers check out NASCAR Online or check out my own season tracking page devoted to the racing Earnhardts at http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/art/88/dalendale.html.

NEWS UPDATE: NASCAR has released the 2001 Winston Cup schedule and two new tracks have been added. The first at the Chicagoland Speedway on July 15th and the second at Kansas Speedway on September 30th. Also a change was made with the No Bull 5 program as the Daytona 500 is no longer a featured race. Instead the million will be up for grabs at the Fourth of July weekend classic Pepsi 400 in Daytona held on July 7 next year. For the complete sehedule click here: NASCAR Online: News.

The next WC event: PopSecret Microwave Popcorn 400 from North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham, North Carolina. The event's defending champion is Jeff Burton. The last visit to this track saw Bobby Labonte go to victory lane and Dale Earnhardt finish second. This time Earnhardt hopes to win and see Labonte have a little bad luck. Earnhardt is 210 points behind Labonte for the Winston Cup Championship with just four races, including this one, to go.

Winston 500 Presented by UPS - Talladega Superspeedway - October 15, 2000

I must admit that Dale Earnhardt is the master when it comes to restrictor plate racing and the king of the draft. He pulled off one of the most exciting wins of his career by beating his son, his teammate and a hard-charging Andy Petree team to win the Winston 500. Not only did he win the race and close the points margin to 210 points, Earnhardt made it luck seven by winning the No Bull 5 bonus from R. J. Reynolds. It was his first win in seven attempts at winning the extra million bucks that is put up by Winston (also the race's title sponser). Dale has to feel good about his chances in the next event as he finished second to Labonte in the spring at The Rock. The aforementioned Andy Petree team of Kenny Wallace and the race's pole sitter Joe Nemechek finished second and third behind Earnhardt respectively. Jeff Gordon and his Hendrick teammate Terry Labonte finished fourth and fifth respectively. This five drivers are elligible for the No Bull 5 bonus next season at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the Las Vegas 400. Bobby Labonte finished 12th and Dale Earnhardt Jr. had his best run since Richmond finishing 14th.

New Hampshire 300 - New Hampshire International Speedway - September 17, 2000

What can I say about the dominance that Jeff Burton had on the field last week at New Hampshire. Who knew that the biggest news to come out of that weekend wouldn't be the restrictor plate issue. I will admit that the plate is not really the answer that NASCAR was looking for as for slowing the cars down at New Hampshire, but it did make from closer racing. Well that is for everyone except Jeff Burton. For the first time since 1966 on a superspeedway (tracks a mile and over in length) one driver led ALL of the laps in an event. Burton started second and he would never be there again the rest of the day. The rest of the field was struggling to just keep up to him. I don't know if it was due to the fact that Burton has driven so well in a Busch Grand National car with the reduced horsepower (about 300 less than Winston Cup), but whatever it was he true was the class of the field on Sunday. And if winning the race wasn't enough, Burton also won twice on Sunday, he leaped into second place in points, behind Bobby Labonte. He passed both Dales on the weekend, Earnhardt and Jarrett, to post his highest points position since he was leading the points in March of 1999.

Pepsi Southern 500 - Darlington Raceway - September 3, 2000

I must say that the Pepsi Southern 500 was the most bizarre race in recent memory and this past Labor Day weekend in Darlington will not soon be forgotten. The day started out with overcast skies and a slight chance of rain, who knew of what was to develop. NASCAR decided to start the race a little earlier than the 1:15pm scheduled start time. Jeremy Mayfield was on the Bud Pole for the second time this season, but is teammate was stealing all of the headlines. Rusty Wallace was looking to win his third straight race win, the last to do so was Jeff Gordon last year. The race was a typical Darlington race until the rains came the first time. After a two hour plus rain delay, the race restarted and Jemery was controling the race until he got taken out by Dave Marcus. This allowed other drivers to take the lead and one of those drivers was Dale Earnhardt. Soon after Earnhardt went to the point the rains came again and it was decision time, pit or not to pit. Earnhardt and Dale Jarrett were the only two drivers on the lead lap who did not pit and their strategy back-fired as the rain stopped and they were shuffled to the back of the pack. When the race resumed it looked like the spring race as Ward Burton made his way back to the front and was followed by his brother, Jeff, and four-time Southern 500 winner Jeff Gordon. On the final round of pitstops Bobby Labonte's crew showed us why they are the Winston Cup Points Leaders and got Bobby out in front of the pack. Why was this important? Besides the fact that ESPN had just got back their auto transmission feed, which was lost from all of the rain, Bobby never ran a green-flag lap on those brand new Goodyears. The skies opened up and Bobby Labonte from Corpus Cristi, Texas won the 2000 Pepsi Southern 500 at Darlington. This was Labonte's third win of the season to go along with his win in February at Rockingham, North Carolina abd his August win at the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis.

You can view my own special dedication pages devoted to the deaths of Kenny Irwin Jr. and Adam Petty by clicking on their name.

I have also added my own response to the two most recent and tragic incidents that have taken place at the New Hampshire International Speedway in my What I'm Thinking?!?!?! column to maybe help answer the question of why is this happening. I have also added some reaction quotes from some of the drivers and followers of the sport as response to Kenny's passing and those can be seen at Kenny's Responses.
