Records are meant to be broken and that exactly what the Australian are doing at the moment. In both forms of the game records have been smashed or equaled and its just not a team effort either. Several player have broken records which have stood for a long time.
Our One Day team have won the world cup in 1999 and now broke the world record for the consecutive wins in a row. the world record was held by of all teams England which was set back in the early 90's when they where in form, but that record of twelve wins wasn't enough who finally lost a game after 14 wins on the trot. That follows a very successful Carlton and United series in Australia against Pakistan and India, (Australia won the Series Defeating Pakistan 2-0 in the finals). Australia got the record on the Current tour of New Zealand.
Our test team has just equaled our previous record of 8 consecutive wins and only needs another two victory's over the kiwi's to brake the world record. the team started there record attempt beating Zimbabwe convincingly in there one of test match and then Beating Pakistan 3-0 and India 3-0 in the six test matches that where played in Australia over the summer.
Dennis Liley was Australias greatest bowler until the last day of the first match between Australia and New Zealand, when Shane Warne took the side to victory taking the last wicket to dismiss New Zealand for 219. Shane Warne broke Lileys record of 355 test wickets getting the number 11 out to make his personal record to 356, Adam Gilchrist took the catch behind the stumps.
