Purpose: How will the solubility of different substances be affected by the temperature of the liquid?
Materials: 2 solids test tubes test tube rack beaker burner and stand graduated cylinder 2 No. 2 stopper
Procedure:
Add 10 g of 2 solids to 2 test tubes, each containing 10 cm3 of water. Place both test tubes in a large beaker of water, and stir the solutions for several minutes until they are saturated. Heat the beaker, stirring both solutions constantly, until the water in the beaker is near boiling.
4. Remove the burner and cool both test tubes together in a beaker of cold water.
