HIPERINSULINEMIA EN LA OBESIDAD

 RESUMEN

    Se realizó un estudio de las concentraciones plasmáticas de insulina y lípidos en obesos. Se incluyeron 30 personas; 21 se evaluaron como obesas, con un sobrepeso mayor al 20 % de su peso ideal según sexo y talla; las restantes formaron el grupo control. Se consideró el tipo de obesidad, androide o ginoide, y sus influencias sobre los resultados. Las determinaciones se realizaron ayuno previo de 12 horas y fueron: insulina basal, triglicéridos, colesterol y sus fracciones. Se encontraron en los obesos: media de colesterol 200,3 ± 34,6 mg/dL, triglicéridos 122,4 ± 49,9 mg/dL, insulina basal 21,3 ± 10,3 uUI/mL; en los no obesos se encontró 177,2 ± 29,9 mg/dL, 82,7 ± 31,6 mg/dL, 8,7 ± 3,47 uUI/mL de colesterol, triglicéridos e insulina basal, respectivamente.

    Hubo una mayor prevalencia de obesidad de tipo androide (57,1 % del total de obesos), con valores: colesterol 203,5 ± 31,4 mg/dL, triglicéridos 137,09 ± 52,15 mg/dL, insulina basal 27,5 ± 25,05 uUI/mL.

 SUMMARY

    A study of the plasmatic concentrations of insulin and lipids was made in obeses. 30 people where included; 21 were evaluated like obeses, with a greater overload of 20 % of their ideal weight according to sex and hight; the rest formed the control group. The type of obesity, android or ginoid, and its influences on the results were considered. The determinations were made previous 12 hours of fasting. They were: basal insulin, triglicerids, cholesterol, and its fractions. They were in the obese ones: average of cholesterol 200.3 ± 34.6 mg/dL, triglicerids 122.4 ± 49.9 mg/dL, basal insulin 21,3 ± 10,3 uUI/mL; in the non obese: 177.2 ± 29.9 mg/dL, 82.7 ± 31.6 mg/dL, 8.7 ± 3.47 uUI/mL of cholesterol, triglicerids and basal insulin, respectively. There was a greater prevalence of obesity of type android (57.1 % of the total of obese), with values: cholesterol  203.5 ± 31.4 mg/dL, triglicerids 137.09 ± 52.15 mg/dL, basal insulin 27.5 ± 25.05 uUI/mL.
