Volunteer - International Work camp
Leipzig,  East Germany
June to July, 1990

In this work camp sponsored by International Work Camps, ten volunteers helped an East German farm cooperative remodel an old farm house in the village of Baalsdorf, near Leipzig. Dr. Christophe Richter is a homeopathic doctor who had discovered a link between his patients' illnesses and the agricultural chemicals on their fruits and vegetables. He created the coop as an organic farm to grow vegetables for the his patients and others. We did a variety of jobs, from laying cement foundations, to walling up an old apartment to ripping out old walls.
