Drama

I have been involved in various kinds of drama since high school. I was in Drama club and did many different events at local and state speech contests, including: improvisation(my favorite), radio news, expository speech, readers theater, one-act play and individual acting. I won several ones at the Iowa State Contests. I was the father in the junior class play, "I'm a stranger here myself" and the evil doctor in the senior class play, "The skeleton walks." I lead the drama activity group at Lac Du Bois in 1987. At the University of Iowa I was a member of "West Side Players" and was the lead role in "It" and a cast member of "Patchwork". In the Peace Corps I directed the 7th and 8th graders for the 1992 school Christmas play, an adaptation of Andersen's "The little matchbox girl" and I directed the 8th graders in the mystery, "The Necklace" for the All Hungary English Drama Festival in 1994. I often use drama techniques and role play in my teaching.
