Projects '99-'00
Below is a listing of the community service projects we
have undertaken so far this school year. They are listed in the order
completed.
Ronald McDonald House
On weekend in September, 15 members participated in cooking
a lunch for Ronald McDonald House. The menu consisted of spaghetti (w/meat or
vegetarian sauce), salad, french toast, and lemonade. The meal took 1 1/2 hours to
prepare.
Bike-A-Thon for St. Jude's Cancer Research Center
Two weekends later, several members held a bike-a-thon to benefit St. Jude's.
Though the turn-out was small, over $600 was raised.
Bake Sale
On Friday, Oct. 15, we held a bake sale during school.
We raised $36, which will go to UNICEF for preventing Iodine Deficiency
Disorder. We are currently taking donations to send in along with this
to contribute to combating the disease
