Our Main Rivals
Queensbury (3 year series: 1-2)
Just don't like 'em. They're too good. How do you score 480 points in one game? Must have
been playing Crown Point. Led by senior Jason Wodicka, we'd like to be able to ice these
guys this season. We were supposed to be heading for a big showdown in the Finals with
Queensbury, but we got sidetracked (see Fort Ann). We played the Spartans first thing in
the 1996-97 season, and won. Then we got them in the semifinals of the playoffs the same
year, but lost in a squeaker.
Fort Ann (1-1)
The upset of the year. Fort Ann beat us by 5 points in the Quarterfinals last year, and
left us shaking our heads. It's not their fault, we really beat ourselves. Should have had
a shot at Nationals after CBA couldn't go, but whiny Glens Falls had their way (see Glens
Falls).
Glens Falls (1-0)
Boy, did we ever smoke them in 1998. They were fortunate enough to be fifth in the league
and play Saratoga in the first round of the playoffs. After they somehow got by our
friends in Saratoga, they almost beat Queensbury (lucky devils). They whined when they
lost. One of the parents whined in the Post-Star. So Tom Reale '00 rebutted the
whinyness with a "put up or shut up" letter to the Post-Star. The part
about us whomping Glens Falls anyway was edited out. When CBA couldn't go to Nationals
(see CBA), the whining got louder... finally Glens Falls was allowed to go to Nationals,
and was gloriously dumped by Queensbury when they got there.
CBA (2-1)
The "Air Force Guys." Paul Bain and Russ Dobler didn't like their pompous
attitudes towards us. We don't seriously hate these people... we just would prefer to play
them and win. They deserved to go to Nationals last year despite our beating, and it's a
shame they couldn't make it.
