MATHEMATICS

1. Student is expected to memorize Math Facts.

2. Student cannot use a calculator.

3. Math problems are presented orally, and student must

give answer orally.

4. Timed tests.

5. No regular review of concepts - teacher presents one

concept for l week, and advances to another without any

consistent review.

6. Student must memorize and recall place value without

any type of visual assistance.

7. Use of rulers that have BOTH inches and centimeters on

the same side, in the same color.

8. No use of manipulatives.

9. Use of “fake” money instead of the real thing causes

confusion.

10. Teacher uses confusing terms that interchange, such as:

“times vs. multiplication”.
