Here's my collection of Do-it-yourself Beauty Recipes. I don't pretend that I've concocted these myself, but I DO enjoy them. I HAD many more but my computer erased a lot of them, so I'm slowly building the collection back up. If you would like to contribute anything, please email it to me! This page is here so people can find these recipes and use them for their enjoyment. Enjoy!

Guacamole Scalp Moisturizer
To moisturize a sun-parched scalp and restore texture and luster: 1/2 avacado
2 eggs
Mix in blender and apply to damp hair. Leave on for 30 minutes. Shampoo out and condition.

Violet Milk Cleanser
Add 1 tsp violet petals to 1/4 cup milk. Heat gently until nearly simmering, and keep heating gently until the milk is strongly violet-scented. Strain, bottle, keep in the fridge and use within three or four days. This makes a soothing oil-free cleanser.

Milk and Honey Cleanser
Mix 1 tsp warm runny honey with 1 tablespoon milk. Use immediately. Very soft and soothing.

Oily Facial Mask
1 egg white
3 tsp oatmeal
Beat the egg white in a bowl until frothy. Add oatmeal to make a paste, and apply to clean skin for 15 minutes. Rinse.
The protein in the egg white absorbs excess oil, and the oatmeal exfoliates skin for a smooth finish.

Puffy Eye-Treatment
1 raw potato
1/2 tsp sour cream
Grate the potato and mix with sour cream. Gently apply the mixture to undereye puffs, then place a cold, damp cloth over your closed eyes. After 10 minutes, rinse.
The cold compress and enzymes in the potato reduce puffiness, while the sour cream soothes the skin.

Prevent Bad Breakouts
1 tomato
2 tbsp yogurt
Squeeze the juice of the tomato into a bowl and blend in the yogurt. Smear the mixture on your clean face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Cure Rough Skin
1/4 cup granulated sugar
6 tbsp olive oil
1 cup fresh grapefruit
1 loofah sponge
Mash the grapefruit and add it to the other ingredients in a bowl. Jump in the shower and use the loofah to gently massage the mixture over clean skin (avoid freshly shaven legs) with circular motions. Rinse with cool water.

2 cups milk
1 mint tea bag
1 pumice stone

(separate completely from the egg white) and apply to clean skin, (leave it on the face for about 15-20 minutes) then rinse off with lukewarm water. Do this daily for about a month and you will be amazed at how clear your skin will be and how improved the texture of even troublesome "combination" skin becomes. After a month of daily treatments it is recommended that you apply the yolk mask 2-3 times a week and eventually you may taper off to a few times a month, depending on your condition.
You may wonder why or how egg yolks can bring about such a remarkable improvement . . . well, wonder no more. Egg yolks are loaded with Vitamin A and other skin-friendly nutrients! Retin-A, a widely prescribed acne treatment is also loaded with Vitamin A, but guess what? Each egg yolk "treatment" costs you approximately ten cents! And there are zero side effects (provided you're not allergic to eggs).
