Physical Description:
Currently held equipment includes military issued sunglasses which he nearly always wears, a Cuban cigar which he never lights (he just has the habit of keeping one in his mouth), military dog tags, a military issued muscle shirt, camouflaged pants with belt, combat boots, a Rolex watch, a heavy pistol located in its holster and a survival knife which keeps strapped to his leg under his pants.

Background:
Martial's earliest memories include watching the parades as the veterans of the Korean War came marching home. He remembered the pageantry, the excitement, the honors and, most of all, the respect they were given. For Martial Blade, being sent to military school was not a punishment but a privilege. He did everything he could to ensure an appointment to West Point and, upon graduation, gladly took the field as a Second Lieutenant in Vietnam.

Sure, a lot of people, including many of Martial’s own men, opposed the war. It really did not matter to him. Whether the war was right or not was inconsequential. Martial Blade was now a soldier, and this was what he had wanted to do all his life. He served proudly, and even the most disenchanted men had to admit that serving under him was at least bearable.

Martial’s career did not end in Vietnam. Laos, Cambodia, and other distant shores soon followed. He was an advisor in South America, Afghanistan, Thailand, and other places. Martial Blade’s last active service was in Grenada, where he led soldiers into combat for the last time. After all, there is another war to fight; a war that has been waged for millennia. The Ventrue need their own soldiers, and now Martial was one of them.

Martial serves the Ventrue in a number of ways. First of all, he knows all the tricks of leadership, and his elders hope to groom him for greater and greater positions of responsibility. Second, Martial Blade is an expert tactician, strategist and modern warrior. Finally, he has that rare ability to turn the most disparate elements into a working unit, ready and able to coordinate as a team.

A man of action, Martial has lost none of his decisiveness since becoming a vampire. Additionally, he tries to be fair in all things, and listens to anyone with something to offer or with whom he must work. Martial Blade will do everything he can to keep everyone willingly working together; should that fail, however, he will gladly turn to brute force to achieve his goals.
