Photosynthesis is a detailed process where solar energy from the sun in absorbed by chlorophyll in a plant and is converted to glucose or another sugar. The sugar is used later by the plant as a form of energy on a cloudy day or in the non-photosynthetic parts of the plant. The basic equation represented by photosynthesis is 6Co2 + 12H2O + Light = C6H12O6 (Glucose) + 6H2O + 6O2.
