Esteban was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. He was part of a happy family with a father who was a successful wrestler in Venezuela and a mother who still is a well-known business woman in their home country, although she now lives in England. His younger brother moved to Mexico not too long ago, but the rest of his family, his aunts, uncles, and great parents still live in Caracas. Esteban was a happy young kid, he went to school in Caracas, had a lot of good friends, and he always dreamed of stepping into the footsteps of his father.
He had one special dream which was being on the same team as his father, fighting at his side. His father was a babyface wrestler throughout most of his career, and that's what he is going to be remembered as. Esteban wanted to be just like his dad, brutal, determined, funny, and always entertaining. His father was a hardcore legend in Venezuela, known for his suicidal moves, always ready to take the action onto and even over the edge. Esteban wanted to be just like him. But then, this one tragic day that will always be remembered by his family, his dad died in the middle of the ring, battling for the National Heavyweight Title. His opponent hit a spinning neckbreaker but somehow executed it differently than normal. And it did just what it is meant to do, it broke his neck, and he instantly died in the ring. His opponent, the then champion, never became happy again and died two years later on an overdose of cocaine. But Esteban's dream was destroyed, he never had the chance to fight side by side with his father.
This accident only made him stronger. He had a legacy to live up to, and he decided that he was going to take wrestling to a new level, a new level of entertainment. His mother was so shocked after this incident and rushed her family into moving to London, England. She never set foot on Venezuelan ground again. Given the fact that she still has her Spanish passport she is legally allowed to work in the UK without any problems, and she has been making use of that since this day. So Esteban and his brother went to school in London, but he soon decided that he wanted to see more of the world, and he made his first step into a new world.
He went to Canada for one year abroad, and in Canada he met a young man called Jason Chambers who should play an important part not only in his future but also in the future of professional wrestling. Jason was equally interested in wrestling, so they started practising together. They travelled through the States and practised with different wrestlers for a couple of months. Jason stayed in Canada and Esteban went back to London, but they never lost contact, and they never lost the love for the sport.
Esteban travelled around in Europe, always looking for new opportunities and for possibilities to practise his wrestling. One day he met a man called Joaquin De Santa Cruz who should also play a major part in his future wrestling career. Joaquin was a professional wrestler, he was almost five years older than Esteban, and he had connections to the different federations. Joaquin also had a wonderful girlfriend at that time, a girl from Venezuela, named Graciela. Graciela and Esteban instantly got along extremely well and Graciela told Esteban that she had a younger sister who was coming to visit her in Spain. So Esteban went back to London to really start practising wrestling, working on his skills, never losing his goals.
And he flew to Spain, as he promised Graciela, and there met her sister, Cecilia, a beautiful young lady. They both say that it was love at first sight, and since that day Cecilia is Esteban's girlfriend, and they are a happy couple. He also convinced her to practise wrestling and she proved to be very talented, so they toured through Britain, working for independent regional promotions, until finally Esteban felt that he was good enough to become a professional wrestler.
He called Joaquin and was invited to perform for the IWA, in the US. Joaquin was known as Black Sky and was a very successful wrestler in the IWA at that time, he was a former World Champ. So Esteban took the trip to the States and the IWA was impressed by his natural talent and his determination to become one of the best, if not the best! They offered him a contract and Esteban gladly accepted. He called up Jason Chambers and learned that he was about to join the FWF. The two met up and started practising together, sensing that someday they would be in the same fed and would be given the opportunity to form a tag team.
In the IWA Esteban joined Black Sky's group, the Malice Palace, and he was instantly pushed to a new level. Not long after he won his first singles title and went on to win the secondary title of the fed, the TV Title. He also teamed up with Black Sky to become a two time tag champion. He even got Cecilia to join the Women's Division of the IWA where she won the TV Title as well.
But soon Cecilia decided that active wrestling is not what she wanted to do, she is a born manager, so she started to take care of Esteban's organization. Esteban wanted to move on in life and he left the Palace and the IWA, only to go back to England and join the EIW, a London based federation. He was successful in this federation as well, winning the EIW's TV Championship and the Tag Belts. But there was no real competition in the EIW, and he felt as if his entertaining skills were misused in that fed.
Finally he got a call from Jason Chambers who told him about a new federation that had just opened in the States and which looked very promising. Esteban contacted the federation's office and he was offered a contract. At the same time the IWA closed down and Black Sky was looking for a new job. The Malice Palace was about to be disolved and so they decided to re-open the Palace in the new fed, the WWF. They were successful from the beginning on, and soon they invited Jason Chambers to join the Palace. The Malice Palace was the top group of the WWF, and went on to win the WWF World and Tag Titles. In the Palace Chambers and Esteban finally could form their tag team they had been dreaming of and practising for. Pleasure & Pain. They went on to win the WWF tag belts in a great match in the finals of the championship tournament, and they kept their belts until the federation closed down.
Black Sky retired, the Palace disolved again, Chambers went to join the HWA, and Esteban joined a new IWA. In the newly opened IWA he was put into the World Title tournament as the second seed and he lost the finals due to outside interference. He also was entered into the Tag Title Tournament, and lost the finals due to his partner deserting him.
But finally Esteban made it. He was granted a World Title Shot and he took this opportunity and for the first time ever he became a World Champ! Finally he did it! Finally he showed the world that he can live up to his father's name. His dream became reality. His title reign didn't last long though, only two weeks after he won the belt he lost it again, but he could say that he achieved what so many never achieve. He could claim to have been the best man in the federation at one time. He was a happy man.
Soon after Jason Chambers called him up again and told him about the HWA which seemed to be a competitive and promising federation. Esteban realized that this was his opportunity to show more people what he was made of. He contacted the HWA talent officer and was offered a contract. The only problem was that Jason Chambers just turned heel at that time, and Esteban wanted to stay a babyface. They sat together with the HWA President and they came up with the idea of a reformation of Pleasure & Pain as babyfaces.
And so they did. After only two weeks in the company Esteban won the Hardcore title, and in the name of his father he honored this title by dedicating the win to his father. He lost the title after only three days, but he went on to win the Tag Titles with Jason Chambers as Pleasure & Pain, and and they held on to the titles for more than three months. Esteban defeated both Sean Ferguson and Sean Huntin in a match for the Intercontinental Title in February 2000 and went on to become one of the HWA's greatest IC CHamps ever. But soon he realized that his attitude was changing each day. He decided to turn away from his previous life and follow the modern life of a mercenary, joining a group called Bad Influence, and turning his back on the Malice Palace.
Bad Influence fell apart shortly after the E-Star had joined them, and Esteban and HWA legend Pimp 2Dope decided to run the group on their own. Pimp had to leave the fed due to personal problems, but Esteban's reputation was already destroyed, so he decided to run with it. Poco Loco and Esteban let their anger flow and created a group called Latin Anger, which is one of the most hated groups ever in HWA history. Esteban lost his IC tilte to Sean Ferguson, but had his sights set on both the World and Tag Team Titles. Esteban's career witnessed another extraordinary turn at the HWA Aggression PPV, when Cecilia attacked his opponent Rave during his match and revealed that the two were still a couple and had fooled the entire HWA for quite some time. The two were then known as VZC - The Venezuelan Connection, and they seemed to be stronger than ever.
During that time Esteban won both the Tag Titles with Apocalypse and then of course the HWA World Title, making him a HWA GRAND SLAM CHAMP! After he won the HWA Title he decided to take some time off from wrestling, dropping the title only 24 hourse after he won it, and retired.
Soon he came back to the HWA under a new alias, Sangre De Fuego. Cecilia came back with him as Triana Villana, and together with Montezuma they formed the Mexican Dreams. They continued with their greedy lifestyle, attacking anybody and everybody who stood in their way. Esteban even got rid of Montezuma and revealed his true identity after a while, and he went on to face Jason Chambers for the World Title. Wild Thang, Pimp 2Dope and DBR interfered during that match, and when Pimp 2Dope gave Esteban the choice - a choice between the newly re-formed Bad Influence and the easy World Title victory on one side, and Cecilia and Chambers on the other side - Esteban made his choice. And,against all odds, he chose Cecilia and Chambers, and that day saw the re-birth of the prestigious Malice Palace!
Jason Chambers got injured and Rave, his new Palace teammember, went on vacations, but Esteban fought on, and after a long feud and gruelling matches with Wild Thang, he beat the Wild One to become a two-time HWA World Champ. This unscheduled title match took place only moments after the Latin Lover won a Lethal Lottery Tag Team Tournament for the vacant Tag Titles, together with his long-time enemy, the Dark Warrior. Dark Warrior and the Latin Lover tried to cheat each other out of the title reign, but somehow they managed to stay on top of the competition until the infamous day the HWA decided to strip all champions of their titles. Esteban, after defending his World Title against his rival Wild Thang at the next PPV, was stripped off both Tag and World Titles as the HWA announced a leave of absence. The fed is now back and going strong but the Latin Lover decided to leave the HWA for good and is now working different Independent tournaments and feds, and he has cut back on working shows twice a week, to every now and then. He has taken part in the King Of Efeds Tournament where he was beaten by his good friend Jason Chambers in one of the most exciting matches of the tournament in Round Two. Esteban is currently under contract in the NAWA where he is quickly earning respect and fame.
