The scene opens up at the HWA Arena. We see a couple of HWA backstage workers rushing around the hallways, preparing the stage for yet another awesome edition of HWA Friday Fear. Suddenly the attention moves to a young couple that is standing at the entrance to the HWA backstage area. The couple is talking to some other people, and we can make out a couple of familiar faces in this group. The young couple then turns around and we realize that it’s the HWA’s first couple, the Duo Infernale,

CECILIA and ESTEBAN

The lovely duo slowly makes its way to the locker room area, but of course the HWA reporter Steve "the Man" Rider grabs Esteban by his shirt and asks him for his time. Esteban, obviously not in the mood to give an interview, slowly turns towards him and smiles, putting on his best superficial face expression as possible.

Esteban: What do you want again? You want me to make a fool out of myself again? Eh? Like yesterday? Rider, I’ll never forget that, you took advantage of the situation and you even ACCUSED me of being an alcoholic!

SR: Well, but you ARE an alcoholic!

Esteban: Well, that’s not the point!

SR: What is the point then?

Esteban: Ah, forget it, you wouldn’t understand it anyways.

SR: Can I ask you a couple of question, Esteban, in a sober state?

Esteban: There is no such thing as a sober state, and you know that. Either it’s the alcohol, or it’s drugs, or just your emotions that overcome you, you’re always under some kind of influence.

SR: Well, but you don’t seem to be under any kind of influence right now.

Esteban: How do you know, Rider? How can you say that I’m not being influenced by my emotions? Maybe that thing with Chambers is getting to me again? Maybe I’m even worried about my fight tonight? Maybe I’m angry with Chance Stuart for calling me a loser? The fire is burning, Rider, the fire is burning. Look at my eyes, Rider, they’re burning. Burning with emotion, with the fire of devotion, passion and compassion, determination, maybe even anger. Chance Stuart is right there in my head, just waiting to get his ass kicked! He wants to fight the Latin Lover? He knows I never back down from ANY challenge! He’s a politician, a egotistical politician, cocky, self-centered, out of his mind and totally unrealistic. Chance, ANYTIME!

SR: What about the Dark Warrior? He said that you couldn’t win if you were Latin?

Esteban: You know, that must have been one of the most stupid remarks EVER produced in this fed, that’s exactly what I am fighting against, Rider. I am here to prove that it DOESN’T MATTER where you’re from, what matters is WHAT you do, HOW you do it and WHY! And tonight, I’m gonna kick his ass, in style, because I want to get my point across! You know, he keeps on talking about how I’m whining that I lost my World Title. Well, duh, I never DID, bitch! I never lost it! I decided to drop the title, just like I will drop the Salto Angel on your sorry ass tonight!

SR: He said you were the worst wrestler he has ever seen.

Esteban: Now spank my ass and call me Charlie! He does NOT know what he is doing! He does not know what he is talking about! He just doesn’t! I mean, c’mon, without sounding too cocky or anything, it’s obvious that I must have SOME talent! I mean, I WAS the World Champ at some point! And I don’t recall HIM being on top of the ladder at ANY point in his career! In fact, he might be a two-time Hardcore Champ, but that’s not gonna stop me from laying a hardcore spanking on HIS ass! Inferno match he says? Well, no, I don’t think so. I want to kick your ass ONE TWO THREE in a plain ring, so that you don’t have an excuse to weasel out of the FACT that you lost to the Supernatural One! Dark Warrior, you talk a lot, now it’s time to see if you can walk with the big boys. Tonight I will use YOU as my example, an example of how greatness can only be achieved in your heart, and you, Oh Dark One, don’t have a heart! Now get out of my face, Rider, I have work to do!

Esteban smiles at Cecilia and the two just walk off, leaving Steve Rider behind, once again, staring after them, thinking about what he could have done more to have kept them for a longer interview! Fade out.
