As should be obvious, I am an anarchist. Unfortunately, it seems that most people have been miseducated about the meaning of anarchy, so I will offer a brief explanation. The word anarchy is derived from the Greek words an, meaning not, and arkos, meaning king or ruler. Anarchy is not the equivalent of chaos(well, actually depends on how you define chaos now that we have chaos theory). The fundamental belief of anarchism is that society should be managed from the bottom up, intead of from the top down as is currently the case. The main goal of anarchists is to create organization at the community level and then work up to the global level. Here are some links to anrchist literature if you would like more knowledge about anarchism.

I am also a socialist and a communist. Despite what you may have been taught in school, communism actually works in places where it is put into practice. Anarchism, socialism, and communism are inter-related. They all absolutely require democracy as capitalism does not(how many dictators are members of the free market?). Here are some more links:

The basic way that you can support socialism is to create organizations within your community to deal with community issues, instead of relying on the government to solve all your problems. Becoming part of an intential socialist community like Twin Oaks is a bit more radical. Before you you go that far, though, you should really consider Overcoming Consumerism.
