How to act towards a homosexual, I believe, is in a respectful way. Instead of shedding all your pity upon him or her, you need to let them know that they are still loved by God and that God only wants to show them the right way to turn. Also, another great thing to tell them, is that they were not born gay. God doesn't create someone a way that is sinful. Everyone is born a sinner, but it is our own ignorance that brings us to a sinful state. And when a homosexual person says that homosexuality isn't mentioned in the Bible, direct them to Leviticus 18:22, in which says (NKJV) "Do not practice homosexuality; it is a detestable sin". The Holy Bible CLEARLY says that God views the practice of homosexuality a sin. Leviticus 20:13 refers to homosexuality as a "detestable act" and says that it's practices' punishment is death, and that both parties involved have committed a capital offense in God's eyes. In other words, it would be contrary to God's character for Him to create a person to be homosexual when His laws call for death because of it. These are important facts that any homosexual (seeking God or not) should know. You should also give them the following verses that basically explain how to overcome their homosexuality: 1 Corinthians 10:13, James 1:12, James 4:17. People can overcome homosexual feelings in the same way that people can overcome heterosexual temptations--by looking to God for help, resolving to stand firm, and avoiding tempting situations. And also let them know that they can be forgiven for their homosexual past, and give them the following verses: Hebrews 8:12, 1 John 1:9, Hebrews 4:16. As for Hebrews 4:16, you can translate that to the following statement:"When we confess our sin to God, He not only forgives us but also gives us new life. He will change our heart and make us new people, free from the imprisonment of our past sins". And end your conversation with them with this promise from God (NKJV) 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 "Don't you know that those who do wrong will have no share in the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, who are idol worshipers, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals . . . None of these will have a share in the Kingdom of God". Meaning, God doesn't look at homosexuals any differently than a heterosexual having sex outside of marriage. A sin is a sin, and once you've sinned, you've sinned all sins. Make sure the victim of homosexuality is aware, dispite our problems throughout life, no sin is too difficult to overcome. God made us that promise, and so far, He's been a pretty trustworthy guy. These are all important aspects in the leadership position in a world full of homosexual sin.
