Soon fell the dawn, the game was on, I raced to find my place.
The wind blew strong, the road was long, I searched for sacred space.
In moments dark and tragic, the ones I loved gave light.
The country passed, as on I dashed, through time, through day and night.
One evening, like the setting sun, I stopped to rest a while.
Beside a silent pool I sat, recounting every mile.
I gazed at my reflection, looking deep in my own eyes.
It seemed something was missing as I searched the endless skies.
A gentle song came on the wind, I felt it touch my heart.
A voice so beautiful, yet close, as if I'd known it from the start
No longer did I wish to race, no longer just to run.
I long to find that dreamed of face I've known since I begun.
